Dental Crowns and Bridges at Aesthetic Dental Center of Bergen County

Has your smile taken a hit because of broken, missing or chipped teeth? No worries. Aesthetic Dental Center of Bergen County provides beautiful dental crowns and bridges that help in restoring the appearance of your beautiful smile and maintaining the function of your teeth to help you chew comfortably and properly.

What are dental crowns and bridges?

A dental crown is a type of restoration that usually involves the use of a porcelain material with a metal base. Crowns are used to repair teeth that have been chipped, broken, decayed, misshapen or worn down. Crowns also help with teeth that have large restorations that are missing, like dental fillings.

Dental bridges are usually types of porcelain restorations that help to replace missing teeth, provided there are sufficient teeth on either side of the missing tooth to provide a solid anchor for the bridge.

Your teeth can weaken over time, leading to one or more teeth that start chipping or cracking. In addition to negatively impacting the aesthetics of your smile, this problem can actually interfere with proper chewing, as well as making your teeth more susceptible to additional damage and decay. If you already have some missing teeth, the resulting spaces and gaps can negatively impact the health of your remaining teeth.

We can provide you with long-lasting dental crowns and bridges that restore the aesthetics and functionality of your mouth.

Porcelain Dental Crowns

Porcelain is a subtype of ceramic, a great material for dental crowns because of its strength, durability and stain resistance. All-ceramic crowns can be made of either lithium disilicate or zirconia, which are metal-free restorations. Additionally, the color of all-ceramic crowns can be customized to resemble that of natural teeth.

Dental Bridges

If you have one or more missing teeth, replacing them can ensure that you have sound bite functionality and enjoy a nice restoration of your beautiful smile. This type of prosthetic is tailored to precisely match the color and shape of your existing teeth to provide natural-looking results that are very seamless.

A dental bridge involves the placement of crowns on surrounding natural teeth. A prosthetic tooth is then attached to them. This forms a bridge between the two natural teeth, hence the term "bridge." A dental bridge is a single unit that we cement onto the teeth on either side of the gap left by your missing teeth, which allows you to chew properly. An additional benefit is that the presence of a bridge prevents teeth surrounding the gap from moving into this empty space, which could lead to gaps between other teeth or problems with your bite.

Aftercare

If you are under anesthesia, take care to avoid biting your tongue or the inside part of your cheeks. Wait until numbness has worn off until you began eating chewy foods again. You should take care that your temporary crown or dental bridge remains in place until the placement of the permanent crown.

Should your temporary crown grow uncomfortable or become dislodged, please contact us as soon as you can. Do not try to put it back in yourself or go without it, since your teeth can become sensitized or shift somewhat, which affects the placement of your permanent crown. An oral adhesive like Fixodent can be used to temporarily retain the dental crown or bridge until you can reach our office.

It is normal to experience some tenderness and cold sensitivity around your gums for a few days after your appointment. Be sure that you are brushing normally, but take care when flossing. It is important that you keep brushing and ensure that your gums are as clean as possible.

I was seen a little earlier than my scheduled appointment so that was a plus. The dental office was immaculate! My tooth extraction was done in less than 5 minutes. I didn’t even realize it was out until he said ok all done!! Absolutely no pain, no pressure! The oral surgeon was brilliant! I’ll highly recommend this a million times!!

I chipped my tooth and needed a new sentient. I called the Ridgefield park office and spoke to a very friendly, professional receptionist and was able to get an appointment soon. The dentist did a beautiful job with my tooth. I would recommend this place 💯

Dr. Jennie Lee was very patient and so good with my 4-yr-old son. He was at ease and sat through the whole filling treatment without any difficulty. They were very accommodating to his needs and didn't give him any unnecessary treatment just to take your money. Highly recommend!! Staff is friendly as well.
